The latest improvements of Google Meet on mobile devices enhance better experience.
Nowadays, working from anywhere is trending for many people. They can keep in touch and collaborate with a team even if they are in different times, places or devices. They are able to utilize mobile devices to communicate with the team by sending emails, chats or joining meetings. According to this working style, users sometimes might have urgent meetings by video call, and they are uncomfortable to show themselves on camera leading to lack self confidence. Google is aware of this pain point and provides a new solution; improving appearance with “Portrait touch-up”, giving them better virtual looks.

For this feature, there are two modes: a “subtle” touch-up, that provides very light complexion smoothing, under eye lightening and eye whitening,” and a “smooth” touch-up, that makes slightly more complexion smoothing with greater intensity.
In addition, Google introduces another simplified mobile experience that will make taking calls while they are busy or traveling much easier and less distracting. When they join Google Meet from their mobile device, it will automatically detect if they’re in-motion and prompt them to use the new feature “On-the-Go” mode.

With “On-the-Go” mode, users can have meetings while they walk, are in a car, or on public transportation. This feature has an audio-only experience with large, easy-to-press call control buttons for fewer distractions. It uses less data, and turns off cameras with large buttons to the most critical features such as mute & unmute, hand raise, and audio device selection. On the other hand, they still have the option to view presented content that can keep engagement with the team.
Google Meet provides these two updates on mobile devices, “Portrait touch-up”; the ability to slightly enhance users’ appearance with more confidence while they show up during video calls. And “On-the-Go” mode; that will make it easier for them to concentrate on the important meeting, reduce external distractions, and save data-transfer with an audio-only experience. Users feel more self-assured and enjoy positive experiences.
