Google has announced that they will shut down “Drive for Mac/PC” on 12th Mar 2018 in the last year. But in response to user’s feedback, they delay the shutdown date to 12th May 2018. Due to this announcement STREET SMART (Thailand) Co., Ltd. would like to suggest another 2 ways to access your files on Drive directly from your computer and also you can choose the best way that suits your work.
Drive Files Stream
Feature: You can access files on Drive without downloading files into your device and access those files via a browser, it means you can keep your computer lighter.
Recommend For: G Suite customers (enterprise or organization)
More Details: You will see both My Drive and Team Drive, which Team Drive is only available on G Suite Business or Enterprise editions, on Drive File Stream. You are able to stream only some files depend on your demand, and also can choose to sync some specific files. More than that, Drive files are available for offline access which the files will sync back to Cloud when you’re online again. This will make your files will always be the latest version.

Backup and Sync
Feature: All of your files on Drive will be synced and downloaded to your device same as Drive for Mac/PC
Recommend For: Consumers (Gmail or General Google account)
More Details: The way you access to Drive will be like you access from your hard drive because Drive will be a folder on your device. And you can choose other folders besides Drive to automatically sync and backup as well.
