Google has announced they will move all G Suite customers from Classic Hangouts to Hangouts Meet automatically on 21st May 2018. Due to this announcement, we would like to give you more information about Hangouts Meet features and the differences between Classic Hangouts and Hangouts Meet.
For those meetings in events we’ve duplicated on Google Calendar for a long time ago, they will stay on Classic Hangouts. Only new events we create will switch to Hangouts Meet automatically, you don’t need to set anything by yourselves.
After 21st May 2018, Classic Hangouts is still available to be used. And here you can see the reasons and features that why we need to switch from Classic Hangouts to Hangouts Meet.
Hangouts Meet Feature:
– Simple Interface
You can do common actions easier such as add people to the meeting.
– Large Meetings
You can meet people up to 25 people for G Suite Basic and Business or 50 people for G Suite Enterprise at the same time. And you can start or join the video meeting from
mobile phone or computer easier than ever.
– Secure Meetings
All video and audio streams are coded even people in the meeting are off-site.
– Recording
For G Suite Enterprise and G Suite Enterprise for education, you can record the meetings from your computer and can share or access easily via email link after the meeting ends.
– Quick Access To Meetings
There are several easy ways to access the meetings.
