Experience better communication among teams with upgraded in-line threading in Google Chat.
Google Chat enables teams to work in real-time by providing dedicated spaces for conversations and content. It recently launched and brought in many key features to improve user experience such as declutter conversation, smart compose, see read receipt in group Chat and add hyperlinks to text. During the remainder of the year and into 2024, Google Chat plans to launch several more new features relating to in-line-threads including; “resizable threads panel”, “home shortcut”, and “thread participants”.
So we would like to introduce a quick preview on the upcoming threads improvements. The first feature, “resizable threads panel”, users will be able to conveniently resize the threads sidebar to be appropriate with their own screen size or increase the focus on threads most important to them.

Secondly, “home shortcut”, “home” is the place to manage and catch up on other users’ Chat messages. Messages from their following threads will be displayed in the home button. Users can also filter to only see their following threads and unread conversations. They will be able to open a conversation or reply from the home view which is convenient and practical ways. There is no more searching for pending discussions or topics from each Chat themselves.

Thirdly, “thread participants”, users will be able to see other team members who have replied to a thread to get better context and decide whether the thread is relevant to them.

Google Chat always simplifies communication, it announces the next improvements. Users can concentrate on threads most important to them by “resizable thread panel”. While “home shortcuts” are easy and helpful to filter and check only their following threads and unread conversations. Users won’t miss any important topics. Moreover, they can check other users’ replies to the threads from “thread participants” in order to understand the contextual situation. With these above upcoming threads features, they will feel more enjoyable and effortless in cooperation.
